"...What we are seeking is the experience of being alive..." Joseph Campbell. Have you lost joy in living? Do you struggle to get thorough the night? Are relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, unresolved anger causing distress? Do you feel alone, sad, unfulfilled? I offer hope and help to live more fully and vividly. Therapy should be a safe place to come when you are feeling hurt, overwhelmed, stuck or lost. Together, we will discover your bliss.
I welcome clients who are looking for a safe place for healing, a place where you feel free to talk about anything that comes to your mind, a place where you feel heard and understood. As a person-centered therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By using complementary approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Therapy may be short term to help you understand and resolve present challenges or transitional life changes. Or you may want extended therapy to explore deeper psychological patterns. I offer a caring relationship to support you in your journey to greater self-awareness and improved personal interactions.
My approach to therapy is person centered, focusing on your specific needs. We will work together to understand how, over time, you have learned to perceive yourself, others and the world. I integrate complementary therapies such as Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Existential, Contextual, Cognitive-Behavioral when appropriate to help you uncover your true potential and live a life that is joyfully authentic.
In addition to psychotherapy, my experience includes LPC and university intern supervision, collaborating in therapeutic research for the University of Pennsylvania and college teaching.
